"World Wrestling Championships Paris 2017" stamp on FDC from France

From August 21 to 26, 2017, France will organize in Paris the World Wrestling Championships, combining the three styles of Olympic wrestling, Freestyle wrestling, Greco-Roman wrestling and women's wrestling (24 categories in total).
France had already organized the men's world championships for Freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling in 1987 (a stamp was issued for the occasion) and Greco-Roman wrestling in 2003 as well as the women's world championships in 1992 and 1997.
France is not a major nation of this sport, dominated by the former USSR (415 world medals !), Japan, Russia or the USA.
On July 21, 2017 (first day sale), the French Post has put into circulation a new stamp dedicated to these World Wrestling Championships.

Designed by Patrice Meliciano, that stamp (€ 1.30, print run: 900,000) is present on the First Day Cover above with a cancellation from Paris featuring the logo of this competition (including the Eiffel Tower) created by Valérie Besser. Thank you very much Joël!
The design of that stamp is quite surprising with a view of the capital in chiaroscuro (Eiffel Tower, the Seine river and its bridges) and an original evocation of the famous Alexandre III bridge in the foreground...
We can see a sculpture on the right featuring a scene of men's wrestling and the base of an Art Nouveau lamp (normally composed of a group with 3 children "La Ronde des Amours") representing here a scene of women's wrestling (not very clear unfortunately...).
In short, that stamp did not leave French collectors indifferent, many of them not understanding this (too) original or daring design...
