Croatia-Slovenia joint stamp issue : 150th anniversary of the Battle of Vis (Lissa)

Unless I'm mistaken, this is the second joint issue between Croatia and Slovenia, after another souvenir sheet issued in 2009 (typical dry stone houses of the 2 countries).
On July 18, 2016, a second souvenir sheet (composed of only one stamp) was put into circulation by the two countries, dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Vis (or Lissa).
I was very lucky to receive these 2 beautiful letters from Croatia and Slovenia franked with this joint souvenir sheet (design : Edi Berk, graphic designer in Zagreb), almost identical for the two countries.
Thank you very much Dragan for the cover sent from Rijeka on September 8, 2016 and Petra for the cover sent from Ljubljana on July 29, 2016 !

This naval Battle of Lissa took place on July 20, 1866, between Italian and Austrian armies, in the Adriatic Sea, off the island of Lissa (called Vis today in Croatia).
This battle, which occurred as part of the Austro-Prussian War of 1866 (which opposed the Austrian Empire to the Kingdom of Prussia supported by the young Italy) and the Third Italian War of Independence, is considered as the first battle in history involving two squadrons of ironclads.
Despite numerical inferiority (7 battleships against 12 for Italy), Austria conducted by Admiral Wilhelm von Tegetthoff (1827-1871), considered as one of the best naval officers of the late 19th century (tactical inventiveness and sense of command), won this battle, by sinking in particular two Italian ships.

This souvenir sheet, including a portrait of Wilhelm von Tegetthoff (by Austrian painter Georg Decker) in the upper left margin, was designed from a painting dedicated to this battle, particularly showing the ramming of the Italian ship "Re d'Italia" by Austrian flagship "SMS Ferdinand Max".
Danish painter Carl Frederik Sørensen (1818-1879) is the author of this work of art (dating from 1868) exhibited at the Museum of military history in Vienna.
Petra also used above the "Euromed Postal" stamp (€ 0.64, European pilchard), issued on July 9, 2016, whose theme this year was devoted to "Fish of the Mediterranean".
