A stamp to celebrate the admission of Kosovo to the IOC

The National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Kosovo was officially recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) on December 9, 2014 during the 127th IOC Session held in Monaco.
Established in 1992, the NOC of Kosovo then met the requirements outlined in the Olympic Charter : sporting and technical requirements but also the fact to be an independent country recognized by the international community (in December 2014, Kosovo was recognized as a country by 108 of 193 UN member states).
Moreover, the NOC of Kosovo had more than 30 affiliated National Federations, 13 of which being Olympic sports federations.

Four days before this Olympic recognition, the Post of Kosovo had issued on December 5, 2014, a special stamp (€ 2.00, design : H. Ademi) about this historic decision for the country, combining the country's flag to the 5 Olympic rings.
It is that stamp, printed in sheet consisting of 6 stamps + 3 coupons, which was used to frank this letter sent on May 28, 2016 from the city of Gjakovë (Đakovica in Serbian), located in the southwest of the country, near the Albanian border. Thank you very much Sabri !
To note that the date of October 22, 2014 is written at the bottom right on that stamp, corresponding to the day when Kosovo was recognized as a IOC provisional member.
Following this decision, Kosovo will participate for the first time at the next Olympic Games in Rio, with a small team (3 athletes in judo and shooting) but great medal chances with in particular its flag bearer, the judoka Majlinda Kelmendi (2-time world and Europe champion) !
