The day when the Augustine bell rings in Hradec Králové

A short post to share with you this nice letter sent on August 28, 2015 from the Czech city of Hradec Králové (north of the country). Thank you very much Slavek :-)
The special postmark, designed by Miloslav Bláha, was specifically issued that day in Hradec Králové to celebrate the day of the bells.
That day of August 28th is actually the day of Saint Augustine, the name of the bell at the top of the White Tower, a Renaissance tower built in 1574, the highest building in the city.

This Augustine bell, weighing 10 tons and the second largest bell of the country (cast in 1509), is only ringing at very few occasions, including August 28th.
This White Tower is depicted to the right on the stamp on the right (15 CZK) used on that cover, with also other monuments of this city of Hradec Králové, such as the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit or the Marian column in the center of the Grand Place.
That stamp, issued on March 19, 2008, is part of the beautiful engraved series "Beauties of our country".
The other stamp (10 CZK), issued on January 20, 2011, is devoted to the tradition of Czech stamp design in Czechoslovakia and then Czech Republic, with a tribute here to the engraver Josef Herčík (1922-1999) through the reproduction of a pre-printed stamp issued in 1966 on the occasion of an exhibition in Prague organized by the Union of Czechoslovak philatelists.
