70 years of the end of WWII in Moldova

On May 5, 2015, the Post of Moldova has released a new stamp (L 1.75, print run : 100,000) dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the end of the 2nd World War ("70 de ani de la sfîrşitul celui de-al Doilea Război Mondial" in Romanian).
A big thank you Serge for this official FDC below (print run : 500), with postmark from Chișinău, regarding that stamp, designed by Alexandr Kornienko :-)
That stamp, as well as the illustration on the envelope, shows a part of the Memorial called "Capul de Pod" ("bridgehead"), whose construction began at the time of USSR (completed in 2004) in Şerpeni, 40 km east of Chișinău.

The troops of the Romanian dictator Ion Antonescu, an ally of Nazi Germany, occupied the entire region of Bessarabia (the present territory of Moldova was part of it) from 1941. A hundred thousand Jews were deported or executed when they fled to Ukraine.
Between March and August 1944, Soviet troops managed to liberate the territory of Moldova and more than 12,000 Soviet soldiers died during these fightings...
This memorial "Capul de Pod" was built in their honor at Şerpeni, where heavy fighting took place in 1944.
To note that this memorial has already been featured in the past on a stamp (60 years of the "Iasi-Chisinau" offensive) issued in 2004 and on a prepaid envelope (65 years from the end of the fascist occupation) issued in 2009.

Serge completed his postage with two stamps (about which I have already spoken on this blog) issued in 2014, used on the other side of this letter above.
The stamp on the left (L 2) is part of a series of three stamps, issued on May 3, 2014, devoted to National Museums of Moldova, the National Museum of History here.
To note that these three stamps were issued each in sheet of 10 stamps + 5 different central coupons, such as on the example above (cup and helmet).
The other stamp (L 5.75) is part of another set of three stamps, issued on January 18, 2014, dedicated to traditional crafts, carpet weaving here.
