Timbre EUROPA 2014 en Espagne

EUROPA 2014 stamp from Spain

Merci beaucoup Josep :-)
The Spanish Post has chosen to pay tribute to one of the greatest flamenco guitarists in the world to illustrate its EUROPA stamp issued on April 23, 2014.
As a reminder, the EUROPA theme this year is "the national music instruments" and that stamp references to the Spanish guitar through a portrait of Paco de Lucía (1947-2014), who died on February 25, 2014 in Mexico.
It is that self-adhesive stamp (permanent rate "B" - Letter up to 20g sent to Europe, i.e. € 0.75 now) that was used on the letter below mailed on June 16, 2014 from Barcelona. Thank you very much Josep :-)

Throughout his career, Paco de Lucía has made significant innovations in the Spanish guitar, was a master of improvisation on stage and was able to fuse flamenco with other musical styles such as jazz, bossa nova, tango or classical music.
He received in 2004 the prestigious Príncipe de Asturias prize for Arts because he was considered as the most universal of the flamenco artists, his style has inspired younger generations and his art became one of the best ambassadors of Spanish culture worldwide.
The career of Paco de Lucía is inseparable from the one of the great figure of flamenco singing Camarón de la Isla (1950-1992).
