Timbres de Noël en Suisse

Christmas stamps from Switzerland

After three stamps "myriad lights" issued in 2012 devoted to Christmas, the Swiss Post has issued four new stamps this year (which is not usual) on the same topic.
It is the young illustrator and graphic designer from Bern, Steffy Merz, who designed this new series featuring typical animals living in the woods in Switzerland, in a festive atmosphere, evoking the "emotion and magic of Christmas"...
These four self-adhesive stamps, issued on November 14, 2013 (in sheet of 20 stamps) were printed in the Netherlands by Joh.

Two stamps from this series have been used on the nice cover above mailed on December 19, 2013 from the city of Ostermundigen (Canton of Berne). Thank you very much Martine :-)
Steffy Merz has designed first the stamp featuring Emma, the wise owl, discovering Christmas (CHF 1.40 stamp) on a tree branch looking a Christmas ball...
The other stamp above (CHF 0.85) features the clever little fox, Foxy, also in admiration in front of a Christmas ball hanging from a tree.
The two other woodland animals depicted in this series are the fawn Bambi and squirrel Jerry.
I just noticed that each stamp in this series includes parts (trees, branches...) with handwriting (not precisely readable)...

Steffy Merz holds a part-time position in the ABC company, which specializes in publishing art and greetings cards.
She therefore logically also designed this beautiful greeting card above (contained in this cover) featuring the fox Foxy with, to the left, the lantern shown on the stamp of this series featuring the fawn Bambi.
These two stamps (Foxy and Bambi) were accompanied by two sets of cards, each comprising four double A6 cards, four C6 white envelopes and the four matching stamps...

As a reminder, Martine Dietrich, graphic designer, has created the special souvenir sheet dedicated to the most famous Swiss gold coin, the 20 Swiss francs Vreneli, issued on September 5, 2013.
I have already mentioned this souvenir sheet in a previous post on this blog, printed with real gold and with a slight embossing reminding the appearance of a coin !
Martine was kind enough to join her cover this souvenir sheet above, with her signature in the left margin :-)
