Après accord en 1926 du gouvernement de la Principauté du Liechtenstein, la "fédération des sections palatines du club alpin allemand et autrichien" fut autorisée à construire un refuge en altitude dans le massif du Rätikon, plus précisément sur le site de Bettlerjoch, point de passage entre Augstenberg et Naafkopf (à la frontière avec l'Autriche et la Suisse).
Ce refuge construit en pierre de taille, appelé "Pfälzerhütte", situé à 2108 mètres d'altitude, fut inauguré en 1928. En 1950, après de nombreuses années d'inactivité et de pillages, le refuge devint la propriété du club alpin liechtensteinois (LAV) qui le rénova et le dota d'un bâtiment annexe.
After approval in 1926 by the Government of the Principality of Liechtenstein, the "Federation of Palatinate Sections within the German and Austrian Alpine Association" was authorized to build a mountain hut in the Rätikon range, more precisely on the site of Bettlerjoch, a saddle between Augstenberg and Naafkopf (on the border with Austria and Switzerland).
This brick-built refuge, called "Pfälzerhütte", situated 2,108 metres above sea-level, was inaugurated in 1928. In 1950, after many years of inactivity and lootings, it became the property of the Liechtenstein Alpine Association (LAV) which renovated it and added an annex building.
Suite à un concours de design organisé par les administrations postales du Liechtenstein et d'Allemagne, l'émission d'un timbre commun a été décidée le 14 juin 2012. La graphiste allemande, Corinna Rogger, a remporté ce concours et a conçu ce timbre à partir d'une photographie aérienne de l'artiste du Liechtenstein, Meinrad Büchel.
C'est la version allemande de ce timbre commun (0,75€) qui figure sur le pli Premier Jour ci-dessus avec un intéressant TAD émis à Bonn (différent de celui émis à Berlin). Merci beaucoup Igor :-)
A noter la présence discrète des drapeaux des 2 pays en haut à gauche sur ce timbre plutôt réussi.
La Pfälzerhütte est aujourd'hui une destination prisée des Alpes liechtensteinoises pour les touristes ou les écoliers qui y font de nombreuses excursions toute l'année.
Following a design competition organized by the postal administrations of Liechtenstein and Germany, the issue of a joint stamp was decided on June 14, 2012. The German designer, Corinna Rogger, won this contest and designed this stamp from an aerial photograph by the artist from Liechtenstein, Meinrad Büchel.
It is the German version of this joint stamp (€ 0.75) that appears on the first day cover above with an interesting postmark issued in Bonn (different from the other one issued in Berlin). Thank you very much Igor :-)
To note the discrete presence of the flags of the two countries at the top left of this rather successful stamp.
The Pfälzerhütte is now a Liechtenstein Alps' popular destination for tourists or students making numerous outings there throughout the year.
