Série EUROPA 2012 en Italie

EUROPA 2012 stamp set from Italy

I think this is the first time that the Italian Post is issuing EUROPA stamps in a self-adhesive version...
On May 9th 2012, the Europe Day, two stamps have indeed been issued each in sheet of 45 stamps (print run : 2.7 million each).
These two stamps are included on the pretty illsutrated enveloppe below, without any cancellation unfortunately...
Thank you very much Matteo :-)
The designer of this series, Tiziana Trinca, has chosen to interpret the EUROPA 2012 topic, "Visit...", by letting us discover the beautiful Italian landscapes through the window of a train !

The € 0.60 stamp (domestic priority rate for a letter up to 20g) evokes a hilly landscape with a field of sunflowers in the foreground and a secluded villa surrounded by cypress trees in the background, reminding the beautiful region of Tuscany.
The right side of that stamp features the rich architectural heritage of Italy with a part of an ancient temple.
The other stamp (€ 0.75 used for a priority letter up to 20g sent to Zone 1, i.e. European countries + countries around the Mediterranean Sea) evokes a coastal landscape with a picturesque village overlooking the sea. Is it an existing village ?
A stylish dancer is also shown on the left on this stamp, evoking the Italian artistic heritage...
Italy is the fifth most visited country in the world each year with more than 42 million tourists, attracted also by its gastronomic heritage !
