La Jeanne d'Arc à Saint-Pierre

In December 2009, the helicopter cruiser "Jeanne d'Arc", nicknamed "La Jeanne", the famous school ship of the French Navy, began in Brest its 44th and last international campaign before being decommissioned in June 2010.
The French Post had issued on 21 and 22 November 2009, a stamp diptych devoted to "La Jeanne" and its sailors.
To commemorate the call of this ship in Saint-Pierre on April 22, 2010, the Post of Saint Pierre and Miquelon has issued the same day a beautiful stamp, off-program, with mixed offset/intaglio printing, a drawing by Alain Bailhache (official painter of the Navy) and engraving by the very young Pierre Bara, a new Phil@poste's engraver...

This stamp (€ 1.00) is included on the nice cover above mailed on June 14, 2010 from Saint-Pierre. Thank you very much Jean-Pierre :-)
It's worth noting that due to disruptions in air travel after the eruption of Icelandic volcano Eyjafjöll, these stamps, printed in France, arrived in Saint Pierre and Miquelon only the previous night of the call of the "Jeanne d'Arc" in Saint-Pierre !
After an ATR 42-320 in 2009, a new engraved stamp was issued on May 12, 2010, featuring an other airplane, a F406, from the small fleet of the local company "Air Saint-Pierre", founded in 1964.
The twin-engine turboprop Cessna F406 (1st flight in 1983), acquired by the company in 2003, is depicting on the stamp above on the left.
