Année du tigre à Hong Kong

Year of the Tiger in Hong Kong

On February 6, 2010, the Post of Hong Kong has issued its 11th Lunar New Year series of stamps in the 3rd cycle dedicated to the Year of the tiger, which officially began on February 14, 2010.
This new series of four stamps ($ 1.40, $ 2.40, $ 3.00 and $ 5.00) is thus the 3rd devoted to the Year of the Tiger after those issued in 1974 and 1998.
These four stamps were also issued in a souvenir sheet. A 2nd sheet has been issued with only the $ 5.00 stamp, in an imperforated version !
This is this last sheet that is included on the official FDC below, thank you very much Michel :-)

I really like this FDC, very harmonious with the warm colors of the sheet and the paper-cut pattern at the left that symbolizes this period of festivities observed in many Asian countries and in many communities around the world.
This $ 5.00 stamp features a rare white tiger while the other running tiger in the margin of the sheet is the same as the one depicted on the $ 1.40 stamp.
Note that this series, designed by Bon Kwan, was printed in France by the "Cartor Security Printing" company...

The Hong Kong Post has also issued on February 6, 2010 a series of several philatelic documents related to this Year of the Tiger : Airmail prepaid postcards, postcards, maxicards...
Michael was kind enough to attach to his letter the maxicard above with the $ 5.00 stamp. It's worth noting that the cancellation, symbolizing the transition between the Year of the Ox and the Year of the Tiger, is different from the postmark on the first FDC above...
To conclude, a third very special souvenir sheet was also issued, consisting of two stamps with a high nominal value ($ 50.00 each) depicting a Ox and a Tiger including gold and silver parts.
