La société de bienfaisance de la communauté chinoise en Équateur commémore les 100 ans de sa création en 2009.
La poste d'Équateur a célébré cet anniversaire en émettant, le 19 août 2009, une jolie paire de timbre (0,25 US$ chacun).
Ces 2 timbres se-tenant figurent en haut à droite sur cette jolie lettre postée le 1er septembre de Guayaquil. Merci beaucoup John :-)
La poste équatorienne a choisi de représenter deux espèces animales caractéristiques des 2 pays : la tortue des Galapagos et le panda géant. L'emblème de la société centenaire (avec les drapeaux des 2 pays), les cartes des 2 pays ainsi que la mention "Centenaire d'une amitié éternelle" sont également présents sur ces 2 timbres plutôt réussis !

The Post of Ecuador has celebrated this anniversary by issuing, on August 19, 2009, a nice pair of stamps (US$ 0.25 each).
These two se-tenant stamps are included on the top right on this lovely cover mailed on September 1, 2009 from Guayaquil. Thank you very much John :-)
The Post of Ecuador has decided to depict two characteristic animal species of the two countries : the Galapagos tortoise and the Giant Panda. The emblem of the hundred-year-old Society (with the flags of the two countries), the maps of the two countries and the words "Centennial of an eternal friendship" are also included on these two rather successful stamps !
John a ajouté en bas à gauche deux autres timbres émis en 2009.Le timbre à 1 US$ a été émis en juin 2009 pour célébrer les 31 ans de l'institut national du patrimoine culturel (INPC). Le monastère franciscain de Santa-Clara, construit au 16ème siècle, situé dans le centre historique de Quito est à l'honneur sur ce timbre avec une intéressante sculpture représentant l'enfant Jésus pensant ("Niño del Pensamiento"). Son église et ses cloîtres ont été restaurés en 2007.
Le dernier timbre (0,75 US$) a été émis en début d'année (quelle date précise ?) pour célébrer la journée internationale de la philatélie. Le timbre comporte la mention "1840-2009" rappelant ainsi que le 1er timbre, le célèbre "Penny Black" britannique, fut émis en 1840.
La poste équatorienne a choisi de représenter, à travers une loupe, un timbre équatorien émis en 1996 pour commémorer les jeux olympiques d'Atlanta. Ce timbre a été émis en l'honneur de l'athlète Jefferson Perez (20 km marche), le 1er champion olympique de l'histoire de l'Équateur à Atlanta. Il a été également trois fois champion du monde !

The US$ 1.00 stamp was issued in June 2009 to celebrate the 31 years of the National Institute of Cultural Heritage (INPC). The Franciscan monastery of Santa Clara, built in the 16th century, located in the historical center of Quito is honored on this stamp with an interesting sculpture depicting a Christ child thinking ("Niño del Pensamiento"). The church and cloisters were restored in 2007.
The last stamp (US$ 0.75) was issued earlier this year (when exactly ?) to celebrate the International Day of Philately. This stamp includes the mention "1840-2009" recalling that the first stamp, the famous British "Penny Black", was issued in 1840.
The Post of Ecuador has chosen to reproduce, through a magnifying glass, a stamp issued in Ecuador in 1996 to commemorate the Olympic Games in Atlanta. This stamp was issued in honor of the athlete Jefferson Perez (20km walk), the first ever Olympic champion in the history of Ecuador, in Atlanta. He was also three times world champion !
