50 years of Indian Oil

C'est un peu comme si la poste française célébrait cette année les 85 ans de la fondation de l'entreprise pétrolière française Total...
La poste indienne a en effet émis un timbre commémoratif, le 30 juin 2009, pour célébrer le 50ème anniversaire de la compagnie nationale Indian Oil Corporation. Il est vrai que cette compagnie est publique contrairement à Total.
Ce timbre figure en 2 exemplaires sur le FDC ci-dessous avec un cachet "1er jour" de Bhubaneswar reproduisant le logo rond de l'entreprise indienne.

It's as if the French Post had this year celebrated the 85th anniversary of the founding of the French oil company "Total"...
India Post has indeed issued a commemorative stamp, on June 30, 2009, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the national company Indian Oil Corporation. It is true that it is a public-sector company contrary to Total.
This stamp is included in two copies of the official FDC below with a FDC postmark from Bhubaneswar reproducing the round logo of the Indian company.

Indian Oil est actuellement la plus importante entreprise indienne en terme de chiffre d'affaire et détient la moitié du marché indien des produits pétroliers.
Elle est aussi la 18ème plus importante compagnie pétrolière dans le monde, forte d'un réseau de 18000 stations services, d'un effectif de 35000 personnes, de 34% des capacités de raffinage et de 71% des capacités de transports (pipelines...).
Indian Oil est aussi propriétaire de 10 des 20 raffineries indiennes.
Parmi ses principaux concurrents indiens figurent 2 autres entreprises publiques, Bharat Petroleum et Hindustan Petroleum, et 2 compagnies privées, Reliance Petroleum et Essar Oil.
Indian Oil is currently the Indian largest commercial and accounts half of India's petroleum products market.
It is also the 18th largest oil company in the world, with a network of 18,000 petrol and diesel stations, a workforce of 35,000 people, 34% of refining capacity and 71% of transport capacity (pipelines...).
Indian Oil also operates 10 of the 20 refineries in India.
Its main competitors are two other Indian public-sector companies, Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum, and two private companies, Reliance Petroleum and Essar Oil.
