Deux jolies lettres d'Inde aujourd'hui !
La 1ère enveloppe ci-dessous a été émise initialement le 29 octobre 2003 à l'occasion de l'exposition "Hublipex 2003" qui eut lieu les 29 et 30 octobre 2003 dans la ville d'Hubli (ou Hubballi) située dans le nord-ouest de l'état de Karnataka (sud de l'Inde).

Je ne sais pas exactement en quoi consistait cette manifestation (lien avec des instruments de musique (tabla et tanpura) présents sur le logo en haut à gauche ?), ni ce que représentent l'oblitération spéciale et l'illustration à gauche sur cette lettre ??
Two nice letters from India today !
The first envelope below was originally issued on October 29 2003 on the occasion of the "Hublipex 2003" Exhibition held on 29 and 30 October 2003 in the town of Hubli (or Hubballi) situated in north - west of the state of Karnataka (southern India).

I don't know exactly what was this event (link with musical instruments (tabla and tanpura) depicted on the logo on the top left ?), and also what is represented on the special cancellation and on the picture on the left on this letter ??
J'ai déjà évoqué le timbre en haut à gauche faisant partie de la série de 4 timbres émis le 8 août 2008 par la poste indienne, consacré aux jeux olympiques de Beijing. Une épreuve de tir (trap ou skeet ?) est représentée sur ce timbre, ce qui me permet de rappeler que l'indien Abhinav Bindra a remporté une médaille d'or en tir (10m rifle à air).Le timbre an haut à droite, émis le 10 octobre 2003, rend hommage à Kota Shivarama Karanth (1902-1997), écrivain, penseur, réalisateur et journaliste indien. Il s'exprimait en kannada, une des plus anciennes langues dravidiennes, parlée principalement dans l'état de Karnataka.
Le dernier timbre, émis le 17 septembre 2008, est consacré à Taravath Madhavan Nair (1868-1919), activiste et homme politique. Il fonda en 1917 le parti de la justice (ou "South Indian Liberal Federation") dans la province indienne de l'empire britannique appelée "Présidence de Madras", englobant une grande partie du sud de l'Inde. Il lutta pour que les castes les plus basses d'Inde aient droit au respect et à la dignité.
I already wrote about the stamp in the upper left, part of the series of four stamps issued on August 8 2008 by India Post, devoted to the Beijing Olympics. A shooting event (skeet or trap ?) is represented on this stamp, which allows me to recall that the Indian Abhinav Bindra won a gold medal in shooting (10m air rifle).
The upper right stamp, issued on October 10 2003, paid tribute to Kota Shivarama Karanth (1902-1997), an Indian writer, thinker, journalist and film director. He was speaking in Kannada, one of the oldest Dravidian languages spoken mainly in the state of Karnataka.
The latest stamp, issued on September 17 2008, is devoted to Taravath Madhavan Nair (1868-1919), Indian activist and politician. In 1917 he founded the Justice Party (or "South Indian Liberal Federation") in the British Empire's Indian province called "Madras Presidency", encompassing a large part of southern India. He struggled for more rights, dignity and respect for the lowest castes of India.

I like the style and colors of these two stamps, especially the local evocation of the Virgin and child !
