L'année où l'état d'Israël fête ses 60 ans, je suis heureux de vous présenter les 2 toutes premières lettres reçues de ce pays !
Le graphisme des timbres israéliens est très caractéristique et unique (au même titre pour moi que ceux d'Allemagne ou du Portugal...).
La présence systématique de tabs dans la marge inférieure des feuilles caractérise aussi les timbres israéliens depuis 60 ans. Ces tabs permettent à la Poste d'Israël d'illustrer, d'ajouter ou de traduire en anglais des commentaires utiles concernant le sujet timbrifié.
The year when the state of Israel celebrates its 60 years, I'm pleased to present you the two first letters received from this country !
The graphics of Israeli stamps is very distinctive and unique (in the same way for me than those from Germany or Portugal...).
The presence of systematic tabs in the lower margin of sheets also characterized the Israeli stamps since 60 years. These tabs allow the Post Israel to illustrate, add or translate in English useful comments about the subject of the stamp.
Un bel exemple de tab ci-dessus avec ce timbre, émis le 28 avril 2008, commémorant les 50 ans de l'institut israélien sur l'exportation et la coopération internationale. J'aime bien ce timbre avec cette main israélienne serrant une autre main symbolisant le reste du monde !Merci beaucoup Asher pour ce joli FDC :-)
A travers ce timbre, la poste israélienne rappelle que cet état est un grand innovateur et exportateur dans de très nombreux domaines (communications, sciences de la vie, armement, logiciels, sécurité, agroalimentaire...). L'économie forte et la croissance du pays sont étroitement liées à ces exportations.
Cet institut, fondé en 1958 par le gouvernement et le secteur privé, vise à promouvoir les exportations de biens et services et à favoriser les liens commerciaux et stratégiques entre les entreprises israéliennes et étrangères.
L'oblitération "1er jour", l'illustration de l'enveloppe et le tab reprennent chacun le logo de ce cinquantenaire, le logo de cet institut étant inclus dans le chiffre zéro !
An interesting example of tab above with this stamp issued on April 28, 2008, commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Israel Export and International Cooperation Institute. I like the stamp with an Israeli hand shaking another hand symbolizing the rest of the world !

Through this stamp, the Israel Post reminds us that Israel is a great innovator and exporter country in many areas (communications, life sciences, weapons, software, security, food...). The strong economy and growth in the country are closely linked to these exports.
The institute, founded in 1958 by the government and the private sector, aims to promote exports of goods and services and also foster trade and strategic ties between Israeli and foreign companies.
The FDC cancellation, the illustration on the cover and tab are showing each the logo of this 50th Anniversary, the logo of the Institute being included inside the zero !
Ci-dessus un des 3 timbres, émis le 27 janvier 2008, consacrés aux 100 ans de la création de la ville de Tel-Aviv.Ce timbre fait référence à l'attribution des premières parcelles de terres à travers une loterie en 1909 !
L'association "Ahuzat Bayit", regroupant une soixantaine de familles juives, fut créée pour construire un nouveau faubourg jardin en dehors de Jaffa.
La légende veut que le 11 avril 1909, les familles se soient réunies dans le sable afin de répartir les 1ères parcelles par tirage au sort : 60 coquillages blancs (avec le nom des familles) et 60 coquillages gris (avec les numéros des parcelles) furent alors tirés au sort par une jeune fille et un garçon ! D'où la présence de coquillages sur le tab de ce timbre !
Une photo immortalisant cet événement a alors été prise, elle est reproduite sur ce timbre avec une vue contemporaine de l'horizon de la ville.
Les 2 autres timbres de cette série représentent A. A. Weiss, l'initiateur de cette loterie et Israel Rokach, maire de Tel-Aviv de 1936 à 1953.
D'autres timbres et bloc-feuillets consacrés à ce centenaire ont également été émis en 2007 et 2008.
En mai 1910, Ahuzat Bayit fut remplacée par Tel-Aviv qui est aujourd'hui le centre culturel, économique et industriel du pays, avec son agglomération de plus d'un million d'habitants.

The stamp refers to the initial allocation of plots through a land lottery in 1909 !
The "Ahuzat Bayit" Association, bringing together some sixty Jewish families, was created to build a new Jewish garden neighborhood outside Jaffa.
Legend says that on April 11, 1909, families have gathered in the sand to spread the first plots by lottery : 60 white sea shells (with the names of families) and 60 grey sea shells (with the plot numbers) were then selected at random by a young girl and boy ! Hence the presence of sea shells on the tab of this stamp !
A photograph immortalizing this event was then taken, it is reproduced on the stamp with a contemporary skyline of the city.
The two other stamps of this series represent A. A. Weiss, the initiator of this land lottery and Israel Rokach, mayor of Tel Aviv from 1936 to 1953.
Other stamps and souvenir sheets devoted to this centenary were also issued in 2007 and 2008.
In May 1910, Ahuzat Bayit was replaced by Tel Aviv which is now the cultural, economic and industrial center of the country, with an agglomeration of more than one million inhabitants.
